March 28: Lenten Workshop

On Sunday, March 28, just following the Palm Sunday Family Service at 3:00pm, families will have an opportunity to participate in various activities related to the season of Lent. Children and their parents will rotate through several stations centered on themes such as forgiveness, service and new life. Check out the new Koinonia Kids bulletin board located in the hallway just outside of Mecklenburg Hall. This bulletin board is full of great pictures from previous events!

Valentine Treats Update

On Sunday, February 28, 55 children and their parents gathered at the church to make valentines, as well as decorate cookies and cakes. The decorated cakes went to the Center of Hope for the March dinner provided by SMPC.

Following this time of fun and creativity, families ventured down the road to Firehouse 32, where they delivered the valentine cards and decorated cookies to the firefighters on duty. During this visit, the families got to take a tour of the entire firehouse, as well as taking a closer look at the fire engines at this station.

Everyone had a great time, and the firefighters seemed to really enjoy the cookies and cards. (Incidently, it was a toss up as to who had more fun at the fire station...the kids or the dads!)

February 28: Valentine Treats

On Sunday, February 28, at 3:00pm, we will gather in the Commons to decorate treats and to make cards for Valentine’s Day! Then we will deliver our treats and cards to Firehouse 32, where we will eat with the firefighters, take a tour of the firehouse, and thank them for all they do in our community. The Outreach Committee will also deliver some of our treats to the Center of Hope on behalf of SMPC. Please register for this event by emailing Nancy Maguire (magu1221@bellsouth.net). Skating Update

On Sunday, January 10, 80 children and their parents met at Kate Skate for our skating event! There was a lot of laughing, falling, and racing around the rink. What a fun time!
